Visionary Artist, Poet and Printmaker, William Blake’s iconic poetry weaved into a kaleidoscope of exquisite songwriting by Glastonbury musicians, community poets and by those from further afield.
An evening to capture the mood of the free flowing 1960’s and the Beat Poets and Musicians who have been inspired by Blake’s iconic imagery and profound poetry, explored by writers and artists through centuries. Accompanied by beautiful visuals.
It will be 50 years to the day since Allen Ginsberg got a tune in his head for a Blake poem he would perform a few weeks later during the tumultuous Democratic Party Convention in Chicago, as the proceedings deteriorated into a police riot. It is obvious that Ginsberg’s version of the Grey Monk will be performed this night.
This will be an amazing evening.
8pm, only £5 on the door.
